Alicia Ávila is also a work of creative lineage in her own right — a fictional artist brought to life as an instrument to express the depth, complexity, and intensity of life experiences by Inelia Benz. During the creation of Aun Estoy, Alicia worked side by side with her cousin Roxy Vale, contributing her grounded, earthy sensibility to the early development of Still I Am. Their creative cross-pollination shaped both albums — Roxy’s fire encouraging Alicia’s boldness, and Alicia’s depth anchoring Roxy’s brilliance.
